Sure, your friends may be jaunting off to tropical locations this spring break, but you-YOU will be hanging out with us in our very relaxing and welcoming studio learning a new skill that is not only thoroughly enjoyable but very practical too! When your friends' tans have faded, you-YOU will have created all sorts of items and gifts with your newfound skill and very own carved linoleum block!
In this workshop, students will be introduced to linoleum block mono-printing, a form of printmaking common among working artists. Students will transfer and carve their own creative image onto a linoleum block that can be used again and again. Students will learn to combine printmaking and collage to make handmade cards for others or beautiful finished pieces of art. After each workshop students will leave with a reusable linoleum block and 3 completed prints to take home.
Outside food and drink are allowed.
Your Instructor: Amber Doan has been creating her own prints for years, has her own Etsy shop, and loves to send out an annual valentine to her friends and family using the printmaking method, and loves to share her knowledge and passion for the technique with others.
